When StrongLifts is a good fit
If you want a ready-to-use app that plans sets, reps, and weights, StrongLifts is an established option to evaluate. Its published features include workout logging, automatic progression, exercise customization, and progress charts.
It is broader than the original beginner 5×5 routine. Its website also lists intermediate programs and variations, including Madcow 5×5. It would be misleading to describe StrongLifts as only useful for beginners or unable to support progress in squat, bench, and deadlift.
If the program is working and you are consistent, you do not need to switch simply because a different app has a milestone in its name.
Where 1000 Pound is different
Our upcoming app is organized around a concrete goal: add your best recorded squat, bench, and deadlift singles and work toward 1,000 lb. The product direction is training guidance, recorded PRs, and smaller milestones along that journey.
That focus may appeal if your main question is “How is my three-lift total progressing?” We are not claiming it produces faster strength gains or replaces individualized coaching. The new app is not yet available for a feature-for-feature hands-on comparison.
Right now, you can use the total calculator, the estimated-max calculator, and the training guides without joining anything. The separate original web tracker remains linked for existing users; it is not the unreleased mobile app.
Choose based on the job you need done
- A workout plan today: review StrongLifts’ programs, device support, and current store pricing.
- A way to add your three PRs: use our free total calculator alongside your existing training log.
- A future app centered on the club milestone: join 1000 Pound’s release list.
- Meet preparation or individual coaching: evaluate those needs separately; a milestone tracker alone is not a competition plan.
The program you can follow and the log you keep accurately matter more than a comparison chart. You can keep training with an existing app while measuring your progress toward the club.
A goal worth keeping track of.
1000 Pound is building a mobile app around your squat, bench, deadlift, and the real singles that make up your total. Coming soon for iOS and Android.
